The Engineering Technician supports the molding and assembly operations with process, equipment, part quality, and tooling issue troubleshooting.  This technician also participates in continuous improvement and safety projects with the engineering, tooling, and maintenance teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in plant-wide safety improvement efforts, identify and correct safety concerns
  • Establish new product molding processes and procedures, and verify quality data to recommend any adjustments required to meet customer specifications
  • Establish new assembly processes for new and existing product lines
  • Address and resolve daily manufacturing problems, troubleshoot assembly machine processes including pick and place assembly as well as leak testing and vision system issues
  • Participate in new machine start-up and commissioning
  • Generate and maintain molding and assembly related work instructions
  • Participate in molding and assembly related training efforts with maintenance and assembly personnel
  • Participate in molding and assembly process design, modification, troubleshooting, and maintenance projects
  • Audit molding and assembly related corrective action activities for accuracy and completeness
  • Be available for on call emergency projects/repairs and overtime as necessary
  • Identify plant-wide inefficiencies and propose/implement corrective action
  • Facilitate small to medium size engineering projects (define requirements, test & compile data, research alternatives, analyze results, perform cost analysis and make recommendations, implement)
  • Other manufacturing duties as assigned
  • Travel <20% for training and support


  • Two year post high school education in industrial or technical discipline and 5 years of experience in plastic molding and assembly processes or equivalent
  • PLC programming proficiency (Allen Bradley or Siemens preferred)
  • Experience with controls systems installation and maintenance
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Team orientated and self-motivated
  • Ability to read electronic schematics, mechanical drawings, & part prints
  • Ability to utilize test equipment, oscilloscopes and analyzers as troubleshooting tools
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
